Larry German Obituary
November 10, 1950 - March 4, 2025
Larry Alan German, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, succumbed to a valiant two-year battle against esophageal cancer on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Larry was born in Pana, Illinois, to Wilmer and Jeanette German on November 10, 1950. He fondly remembered his childhood growing up with his two brothers, Bill and Ed, and his two sisters, Bonnie and Cindy.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Tertocha) German of Battle Creek, Mich.; his children, Jeffrey (Tammy) Songer of Vicksburg, Mich.; and Lesley (Michael) Hagelgans of Union City, Mich.; and his grandchildren, Hanna (Gavin) Jorns of Boise, Idaho; Cole Songer of Vicksburg, Mich.; Damen and Delilah Hagelgans of Union City, Mich. His siblings are William J. German of Tampa, Fla.; Edward R. (Nanette) of Harristown, Ill.; sisters Bonnie J. (Jerry) of Harristown, Ill.; Cindy S. Boulier of Decatur, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Elmer and Jeanette Elsie (Watson) German, of Decatur, Ill.; and his grandparents, Russell and Rella (Swaney) German of Nokomis, Ill, and Raymond and Elsie (Matheny) Watson of Shelbyville, Ill.
Visitation for Larry will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 with the funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Naumann officiating.
Burial with full military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
