Chad Ery Obituary

Beloved father and friend, Chad Everett Ery, 53, passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025
Chad was born on April 10,1972 in Toledo, OH to Rick Ery and Debra Wilson Ery.
He was a proud graduate of St John's Jesuit High School in Toledo. Shortly after he relocated to Hilton Head Island and Bluffton SC.
Chad was a long-time resident of Bluffton, SC and spent many years working closely with the community.
He was a horticulture enthusiast, his love of gardening and knowledge of plants was vast, and he was always ready to help anyone at The Greenery, where he worked for many years.
The majority of his career was with Hargray Communications, where he worked in community relations. Chad would cook food for all the community events that were held and loved talking with everyone who attended.
This is where his love of food came into play, he began to enter BBQ competitions.
Chad came in 1st place at The Big Pig Jig. In recent years he began judging the contest and loved the atmosphere of the events.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and Beloved Aunt Janet.
He is survived by his three children, Rahne Ery-Fick (Tyler), River Ery and Scarlett Ery.
His sister Lori Focht and half-brothers Todd and Troy Ery, his lifelong friend Russ Daken and many nieces and nephews
Also, his very best friend and mother of his children, Leeanne Kahler.
Chad was an extremely unique and loving soul, someone who was completely genuine and was loved by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
