JoAnn Tourrette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2025.
JoAnn Tourrette passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2025 in Tulelake, CA at the age of 70. She was born April 25, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Rose Ludwikoski. She leaves behind her husband, Chuck Tourrette. After high school, JoAnn moved to Venice Beach, CA where she worked as a driver for Rolls Royce and where she met the love of her life. They were married in August 1982 and relocated to Tulelake, CA. She worked in hospitality and at the Lava Beds National Monument. JoAnn had a tremendous love for animals of all kinds. On her property you could find parrots, dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, turtles, possum, peacocks, chickens, fish and a Canadian honker she rescued. She also loved art and was a big supporter of her local artists and craft fairs. Her home, covered wall to wall with her eclectic findings including metal, pottery, glass to name a few. Most featuring animals and birds.

JoAnn was quick witted, had a wonderful sense of humor, a kind and generous nature, an endearing smile and was always up for anything. She adored her friends and hosted many gatherings. Her laughter was infectious and still lives on in her parrot, Butch.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and sister Janice Sandys. She is survived by her husband Chuck, sister Rosalie Billow, Brother-In-Law Dave Sandys, stepson Stephen Tourrette, grandchildren Holly and Grace and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at her home on a future date.

Loved our visits with JoAnn and Chuck. Were able to visit several times when we were out west.
JoAnn embraced the Tulelake area. She cherished the land around her and the opportunities she had to raise and care for all her animals. The support Chuck provided JoAnn over the years is a testament to their love.
May she rest in peace. Dave (for myself and her sister Janice)
