Pamela Srna Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2025.
Pamela Lee Srna, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Peoria, Arizona, after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children and loved ones in the sunshine as she wished to happen. Born in Seaside, Oregon on May 10, 1957 to Angus (Bud) Stewart and Letty Whitehead, Pamela's heart and home were forever rooted in Ketchikan, Alaska, where she shared her life with her family, friends and embraced the beauty of nature.

Pam is survived by her children Derek Hert, Daryl Hert, Dayna Hert (Todd MacManus), Bill Sukert, and stepson Tommy Srna (Irene Srna). She is also survived by her grandchildren Zephania Ware, Tori Seley, Ahna MacManus, Kali MacManus, Brooke Hert, and Alyssa Hert. Pam was also deeply proud of her grandchildren with whom she shared an abundance of love and joy with. Her grandchildren were her pride, and their laughter filled her heart.

Pamela had a gift for finding joy in every moment. Whether it was sharing a chuckle, boating or fishing with friends and family, tending to her garden, or hobbies with friends, she cherished the simple pleasures in life. Her love for animals was immense, and along with her late husband, Tommy Lee Srna, they lovingly cared for 3 dogs, 1 cat, and occasionally any extra furry friend who needed a home. Her most beloved pet, "Aunt Ginger" laid peacefully by her side while she passed away.

A hardworking woman, Pam earned her accounting degree while raising her children. Despite her many accomplishments, she never lost sight of the little things that mattered most. After-school treats were a staple in her home, and there was always a crockpot on the counter simmering something tasty, ready to welcome anyone who walked through the door. Sunday dinners became a cherished tradition, one that will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

Pamela's legacy is one of love, hard work, laughter, and warmth. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in peace, forever surrounded with love and sunshine as she loved so much. We will always carry you with us, mom.

A celebration of life will be held in Ketchikan at a later date.

The first time I was aware of you was in the hallways of Kayhi when we were teenagers. Then met you at Bud´s funeral at his Mecca bar. You gave birth to Bill two weeks later. Our path of sisterhood continued to grow from there. I admire your schedule of daily routine, ease of getting the best deals on foods, always something in the fridge to snack on, just the right amount of flavors on meats and soups. Then creating any craft project you put your mind to like crocheting and sewing. You have an eye for beauty. Your green thumb for growing house plants. But most of all your ease of a smile, laughter, hugs, and caring for others. Thank you for enriching my life for over 41 years. Rest In Peace my sister.

We had a good time getting to know each other at work those many years and we tackled some interesting projects together. I´m glad we spent time crafting and visiting. I hope you enjoyed playing elf with me. I wonder how many people had us on camera and wondered what was going on! I do miss you so much, my friend. You were a wonderful sounding board and always there for me.
