Richard Weidner Obituary

Richard E. Weidner, 80, of Gardners, PA, passed away on January 20, 2025, in his home. He was born on January 21, 1945, in Gardners to the late Roy and Myrtle (Cole) Weidner.

Richard was a pillar in the area owning and operating "Richard Weidner Paving & Excavating" for more than 47 years with the help of family; his sister, Nancy and dedicated nephew, Bobby Cooley. He loved his work and serving the community. Richard was a member and for several years chief of the Aspers Fire Company. He was a social member of the American Legion Post 262 of Biglerville and lifetime member of the South Mountain Rangers Riding Club serving as President and founding member of the development of the club grounds. Richard and his wife spent countless hours in the saddle with his precious "Red" and "Rebel" exploring the mountains from New York to Tennessee.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 29 years, Deborah (McDannell) Weidner; beloved grandchildren, Ashly (Carl) Wilkinson, Robyn Weidner, Shawnee (AJ) Cordero, Rich Weidner, and Damian (Kirstin) Gilbert; great grandchildren, Morgan, Hayden, Mackenzie, Karlie, Jaxson, Holly, Carter, Victoria, Meridith, Bobby; step sons, Todd (Amber) Chase, Kris (Wendy) Chase; step daughter, Connie Altice; step grandchildren, Rebecca, Aaron, Zackary, and Riley; sister, Nancy (Roger) Cooley. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph and Randy Weidner.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs. Visit HollingerFuneralHome.com to offer condolences to the family.
