It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Priest Joyner, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who left us too soon at the age of 72. Diane's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Diane is survived by her son, Michael "Scooter" (Dedera) Joyner, her daughter, Jennifer (Ben) Mathews, her granddaughters, Amanda, Taylor, April, and Payton, and her sister Barbara Nicholson (JD), and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike Joyner and her parents, Carl and Myrtice Priest.
In addition to her cherished role as a mother and grandmother, Diane was a devoted sister and aunt. She was always offering a listening ear and a helping hand. Her love and support extended to all who were fortunate enough to be part of her family.
Diane retired from the United States Postal Service after a long and dedicated career, during which she formed many lifelong friendships. In retirement, Diane found joy in traveling and spending precious time with her family. Whether near or far, her family was always the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Diane's kind spirit, infectious laugh, and ability to make everyone feel at home will be greatly missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and the importance of family that will continue to inspire those who loved her.
