Robert Curfman Obituary

Robert W. (Bill) Curfman

1949 - 2025

Peoria, AZ-On February 7, 2025, our beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend breathed his last breath on this earth with his loving wife of 22 years by his side.

Robert William (Bill) Curfman was born on April 5, 1949 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Robert (Bob) and Betty Curfman. When Bill was 8 years old the family moved to Moab, Utah. His love of sports and the outdoors became obvious while growing up in Moab. He spent most of his time riding bikes and hiking. He loved playing baseball and basketball but excelled in football and golf. When he graduated from Grand County High School he attended college in Grand Junction, Colorado. He would then spend the next 40+ years working in the construction field as a project manager. He did try out for the PGA Tour and although he never made the Tour, he remained an avid golfer. He continued to play golf with the same foursome, every Saturday for the last 25 years until his illness prevented him from playing the game that he loved the most. After retirement Bill picked up the sport of pickleball and enjoyed playing in a weekly league.

Bill loved his wife and family immensely, you could tell by the conversations you had with him. He was thrilled when he became a grandfather and he was so proud of them!

Bill is survived by his wife, Maryanne Curfman, son Robert W Curfman Jr (Kathy), daughter Sheri Lynn Taylor (Kevin), grandchildren Elizabeth Curfman, James Curfman, Austin Taylor and Callie Taylor, sisters Carol Ann Mayhew (Jack), Jana L Smith (John), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert (Bob) L Curfman and Betty L Curfman and his grandparents. There will be a Celebration of Life held on April 5, 2025 in Moab, Utah at the Moab Community Church, 544 MiVida Dr. at 11:00 am.

Bill and I played on the same little league team during the late 50s,early 60s. He was a great team mate. I still have a picture of the guys from that time and think of the good and bad times that we had. My condolences to Billy's family

I have a great photo of Billy & myself with our arms around each other at one of our high school reunions. Bill & I were running backs on the Grand County High School football team. He was a great full back. He was punishing banging up the middle. I was so sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his loved ones.
