Clifton Clowers Obituary
Junior was a born-again Christian, loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed his career as a sawyer. After retirement he became a dedicated volunteer for Morgan Scott Project leading mission teams with home repair needs. Junior was often seen cruising through town in his white and tan ford truck.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis; mother, Geneva Clowers Armes; sister, Kathy Bertram; brother and sister-in-laws, Ralph Morgan, Jane, Sammy, Johnny, Emma, James, Robert, Sally (Robinson), L.A.(Kathryn), M.D. (Letta) and Glenn McCartt; A.D. (June) Kelly, Parley McCann, Ralph (Betty) Fulks, and Lynn Swint.
He is survived by his two daughters, Crystal (Bobby) Tompkins and Tina (Derrick) Sexton; six grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Sexton, Jessie Tompkins, Lucas Sexton, Justin (Abby) Tompkins, Tisha (Diego) Munguia and Rylenn; five great-grandchildren, Asher, Liam, Wrenly, Hayes and Remi; sister, Maggie Morgan; brother and sister-in-laws, Bill and Ella Smith, P.J. McCartt, Sue and Robert Moore, Gladys Miller, Eva Swint and Mickey Robertson; special friend Bill Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service followed with Malcom Strong officiating. A graveside service was held Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. in Lane Cemetery.
