In Loving Memory of Terel (Terry) Kent Young.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Terel (Terry) Kent Young, a proud resident of Saint David, Arizona, who departed this life on May 3, 2025, at the age of 81. A dedicated husband and family man, community servant, naval veteran, and esteemed member of the Arizona Rangers, Terry leaves behind a legacy defined by courage, integrity, and unwavering service.
Terry heeded the call to serve his Country, serving as a U.S. Navy Corpsman from 1961 to 1965. He also was a proud member of The Ancient & Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus #1849 in Mariposa County. During his time with the Arizona Rangers, he was honored with the Commander's Appreciation Award for his outstanding service and leadership during the Monument Fire of 2011a time of great challenge for southern Arizona.
Terry was a man who lived with purpose, but his greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol Young; his two daughters, Antoinette (Toni) Chapin and Michele Young; and three grandsons, Brandon Chapin, Zachary Chapin, and Simon Pliler. His love and legacy also continues on in his two great-grandchildren, Jack and Margot Chapin.
Terry will be remembered not only for his honorable service but for his quiet wisdom, loyal friendship, and enduring love for his family and community. His legacy is one of service, strong values, and a life well lived.
A private service will be held by the family, and Terry will be buried at Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
