Betty L. Sims, 91, of Mount Dora, Florida, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born in Leflore County, Mississippi, she made her home in Mount Dora in 1978 after relocating from Bedford, Indiana. A devoted homemaker, Betty embraced her family and community with love and care.
She leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Sims; her sister, Vonnie Lee Cox; her brother, William Shelton; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Michael, Ashley, and Amanda. Betty was also a proud great-grandmother to Andrew Daniel and Logan Anthony.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry Sims, and her son, Peter D. Sims.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice House, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. An online guestbook is available at www.hardenpauli.com. Arrangements are provided by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, Florida.
Betty's warmth and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
