Carolyn Jane Wells Walker, 91, of Lillington, passed away on March 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on September 30, 1933, in Spartanburg South Carolina, to the late Welton and Addie Glass Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years William Paschal Walker and a son, Keith William Walker. Carolyn was an independent and caring woman. She attended Pacolet high school in Pacolet, SC, and nursing school at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. She had a nursing career lasting more than 35 years including family practice, home health, and hospice. In 1954 she married her sweetheart Bill Walker to whom she was married for over 52 years. She was an avid reader and loved to play "solitary" on her I-pad.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Teresa and her husband Jim Roberts, a son Joseph and wife Janet Walker, and a daughter-in-law Debbie Walker. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Sarah Wade (Paul), Olga Eisenmann (Stephen), Will Roberts (Christine), Andrew Roberts (Crystal), Ryan Riedel (Lindsay), Meredith Oliver (Clay), and Morgan Williams (Rob). What made her smile the most were her great-grandchildren who called her Gigi: Sophia and Zoey Eisenmann, Grace and Joseph Roberts, Caroline Wade, Bailey and Gabe Dean, Davis and Darby Williams, Brooks Oliver.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on April 8, 2025, at 2 pm at Memorial Baptist Church, 271 Leslie Campbell Avenue, Buies Creek, NC, with Pastor Ed Beddingfield officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Ste 310, Miami, FL 33126.
