Charles "Charlie" Lynn Moore, of Nettie, formerly of Rainelle, passed into his life eternal Friday, April 19, 2024, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.
Born February 17, 1945, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Watson and Beulah (Rookstool) Moore.
"Charlie" or "Pops", as he was known by many of his young friends, was a graduate of Rainelle High School. He was a retired miner. Charlie was a hard worker who loved his family and took care of their needs before his own. He was honest, fair, compassionate, and loving, never meeting a stranger. "Pops" loved to go to the farm and visit his "girls", Zoey and Micah, and Duke, his grand dogs. He was proud to have been saved and baptized in the Summersville Regional Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Jack Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Delva (McCutcheon) Moore; his son Travis Moore of Nettie; his stepdaughter Penny Stacy of Summersville; his sister Jean Riggs (Roger) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one sister-in-law Margaret Moore of Lewisburg; three granddaughters Ashley Spencer (Matt) of Frankford, Alisha Peters (Wes Anderson) of Sabina, Ohio, and Kelsey Stacy (Junior) of Blue Sulphur Springs; three great-grandchildren Elizabeth Spencer, Abby, and Mason Peters; and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bradley Boise officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 2 – 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
