With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Consuelo Medina España de Patiño, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully left this world on the night of September 19, 2024, at the age of 95. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and kindness, leaving a profound legacy for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born on May 23, 1929, in Mexico City, Consuelo was the eldest daughter of Jesús Medina Pérez and Margarita España Martínez. She cherished her role as the first of four daughters, guiding and nurturing her sisters, Esther, Aurora, and Luz María, throughout their lives. In her heart, she carried the rich memories of post-revolution Mexico, and her spirit reflected the resilience and warmth of her upbringing.
Consuelo's greatest joy was her family. On September 11, 1949, she married the love of her life, the master tailor, Ramón Patiño Flores, and together they created a nurturing home filled with laughter and love for their four children: Edith, Consuelo Margarita, Jesus, and Ramón. Consuelo dedicated herself wholeheartedly to motherhood and her home, giving her all to create a loving environment where her children could thrive. Her great passion for knitting produced countless cherished garments and blankets, each stitch infused with her love.
Her devotion extended far beyond her immediate family; she possessed a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her home was a sanctuary where hugs and kisses were plentiful, and where delicious meals awaited any visitor. With a fierce love akin to that of a mother bear, she was generous to a fault, always ready to share her wisdom and guidance, especially with her cherished children.
As a grandmother, she was the embodiment of warmth and tenderness, holding her grandchildren close to her heart and creating treasured memories that they will carry forever. No matter how her family expanded, Consuelo's love never wavered; it only grew deeper and more encompassing.
Consuelo is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband Ramon, her parents Jesus and Margarita, her sisters Esther and Luz María, and her son-in-law Hector Beltrán.
Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her children, Edith Albarrán and her husband Primitivo, Consuelo Beltrán, Jesus Patiño and his wife Mary and ex-wife Cindy, and Ramón M. Patiño, along with her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who will forever honor her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.
As we remember Consuelo, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that will continue to inspire us all.
