David Clemens Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. on Apr. 3, 2025.
David Robert "Scoop" Clemens, 88, passed away on March 30, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 5, 1937, he was the son of Abraham and Ruth Clemens. David lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen "Haas" Clemens, who passed on December 26, 2021. Their bond was unbreakable and he carried her love with him always. He found comfort in tending to his late wife's daffodils and bluebells, a testament to the depth of their love and connection.
David is survived by his three children: David Clemens, married to Lauren Baird Clemens; Sherri Kaminski, married to Phillip Kaminski; and Kimberly Clemens. He was a devoted grandfather to Heather Winslow, married to Kasey Winslow; Rachel Gantert; Amber Gantert; Madison Ott, married to Alex Ott; Tanner Renninger, married to Kate Styer; David Joseph Clemens; Serenity Clemens; and Charley Fredericks-Clemens. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Kylan Winslow, Arabella Krick, Hailey Winslow, Julian Matos, Asher Mohn, Oaks Ott, and another baby Mohn on the way.
David was survived by his brothers, Phillip and Barry, and his sisters, Sandra Flemming and Colleen Ludwig. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald ("Jerry") and Russell, and his sisters, Barbara Clemens and Lucille Dunkelberger. His brother Jerry, who passed just weeks before on March 11, 2025, was his lifelong best friend and constant companion. They shared an unbreakable bond enjoying one another's company with endless laughter. The Clemens family stories will live on and, as pop pop always said, "Life is Good".
David lived most of his life in Mohnton where he lived his best life with family, friends and neighbors he befriended. He was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures and would help anyone in need. He loved sports, family casino trips, drinking a cold beer, and sharing stories from back in the day. David was an avid fan of all Gov Mifflin sports and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on March 15, 1962. David later worked at CarTech for 45 years. Attended Mohnton High School and was part of the first class to graduate from Governor Mifflin Senior High.
His family remained by his side at home, showering him with love and ensuring he was never alone until he passed on to his eternal home to be with his wife again. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, kindness, humor and the gift of gab to anyone he met. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. We are heartbroken to say goodbye.
Special thanks to Rufina for helping the family care for David, and his late wife Mary Ellen.
