Dick Eugene Baker
Dick Eugene Baker, 78, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, peacefully, at The Waters of Dunkirk. Dick was born in Chicago, IL, on January 6, 1947, a son of the late Fredia (Crocker) and Eugene Baker. He was a 1966 graduate of Montpelier Community High School and has had a lengthy and diverse career in the Trucking, Freight and Transportation Industry. Dick retired from FedEx Freight formerly Viking Freight after 23 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunkirk, IN, Amway, Dunkirk Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion, Lions Club, former member of FFA and several model train and coin collecting clubs. Dick was an avid Solitaire enthusiast, collected model N-Scale and HO-Scale trains, old coins, loved to tease his friends and family and cherished his train trips with his late wife Marilyn. He is survived by 7 children; John Baker, Dick Baker, Mariann Haase, Bill Baker, Melissa Eden, Paul Hart (wife Susan), Loretta Wilson (husband Dean), 1 brother; Robert Baker, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn (Henry) Baker, 3 siblings; Dale, Danny and Sis, 2 very dear aunts; Alma Norris, Pauline Uhrich. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Father Kevin Hurley officiating. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
