Domenico P. Lettini, 88, of Linden, NJ entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home 301 East Blancke Street Linden.
The Funeral will begin at the funeral home at 9am on Friday, September 27th followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle Church Clark-Linden at 10am. The Entombment will follow at St Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia NJ.
Domenico was born in Genzano di Lucania, Italy to Felice Lettini and Vincenzina Bifano Lettini. He was one of five children and began working with his father at an early age as a mason apprentice. His family migrated to the United States in June 1955 and settled in Linden NJ.
Domenico married the love of his life the late Fausta Stanco Lettini who passed away in February 2020. Loving Father of Felix (Kathy), Nancy (John) and Antoinette. Cherished grandfather to eight loving grandchildren, Gabrielle, Erica, Angela, Meagan, Sophia, Felix Jr., Domenick and Marco. Dearest brother to Giuseppina Pietrapertosa, Lena Pietrapertosa, the late Anthony Lettini and Mary Marchione.
Domenico was an entrepreneur and began to buy, build and sell homes under several companies but primarily under "F. Lettini & Sons." He was well-known for building homes in Linden and throughout Union County. He not only built a successful business but provided a loving home for his family.
He always loved to see the fruit of his labor whether it was constructing homes or tending to his garden. He spent the last years of his life primarily between Ocean Gate, NJ and Pompano Beach, FL where he could be found either on his balcony using his binoculars supervising construction of the high rise across the street, in the pool, or spending time under the shade tree amongst his close friends.
Domenico is best remembered for tinkering in the garage or in his garden, the times at the beach and making wine and sauce with the family. He had a strong work ethic and a fun-loving way about him, particularly when wearing his black cowboy hat in the garden or at the beach. We each have our own personal connection, but we can all agree he was a good-hearted man, and the finest gentlemen as expressed by his brother-in-law Alfonso. Domenico was the greatest dad, loving husband and the best "Nonno" ever. He will be forever in our hearts and missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory, www.stjude.org would be appreciated.
