Dorris Robinson Obituary

Mrs. Dorris Roberts Robinson, 92, of Lenox, Georgia passed away on September 14, 2024 at Cypress Pond Care Facility in Tifton, Georgia. Mrs. Robinson was born on July 7, 1932 in Lenox to her late parents, Walter Creed Roberts and Carrie LeAnnie Godwin Roberts. She was a member of Lenox United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. James "Dan" Robinson of Lenox; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gina Robinson of Lenox; three grandchildren: Jake and Leah Robinson of Lenox, Brooks and Jessica Robinson of Tennessee, Chris and Misty Robinson of Ochlocknee, Georgia; seven great grandchildren: Beau Robinson and Brady Robinson of Lenox, Joseph Robinson and Aaron Robinson of Adel, Jeb Robinson of Tennessee, Ryleigh Beth Robinson of Valdosta, Georgia and Ashton Robinson of Moultrie, Georgia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Cliff Robinson; two brothers, Rev. Curtis Roberts and Glenn Roberts; and one sister, Ollie Lindsey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Oaky Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Hendley and Rev. Lester Burkes officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Chris Robinson. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her grandsons Jake Robinson, Chris Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Joseph Robinson and Aaron Robinson will serve as pallbearers as well as family friend, Shane Daughtrey. Mrs. Waunell Nichols will play piano and sing, "Eastern Gate" and "I'll Be Looking For You".
