Funeral services celebrating the life of Dortha Faye Noland, 97, of Canton, Mississippi, a lifelong resident of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. The interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Mrs. Noland was born on January 15, 1927, in Glenmora, Louisiana, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 6, 2024, in Canton, Mississippi.
Dortha was lovingly called Nana by many, her family was the light of her life. She taught preschool for many years at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church, and she was loved by all. To know Dortha was to love her. She touched many people’s lives throughout her years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Buck Noland; parents, James Levie and Cleo Jones Monroe; brother, William Joe Monroe; and her beloved sister-in-law, Betty Jo Monroe.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Freddie Monroe and his wife, Phyllis; three sons, Terry Noland and his wife, Beckie, Steve Noland and his wife, Angela, Rod Noland and his wife, Denita; daughter, Carol Dunn and her husband, Bill; eleven grandchildren, Lane Noland, Thad Noland, Ty Noland, Denee Cannon and her husband, Caleb, Rodney Noland and his wife, Stephanie, Sarah Wedrall and her husband, Casey, Stephen Noland and his wife, Allison, Jared Dunn and his wife, Catherine, Stephanie Green and her husband, Trent, Tyler McLain and his wife, Nikki, and Liz Riedel and her husband, Darryl, Jr.; fourteen great grandchildren, Grayson Noland, Sam Noland, Carter Cannon, Harper Cannon, Felix Noland, Emily Wedrall, Emma Sumner, Sophie Dunn, Hayleigh Green, Walker Green, Atlas Riedel, Taryn McLain, Tanner McLain, and Connor McLain.
The pallbearers will be Lane Noland, Thad Noland, Rodney Noland, Jared Dunn, Caleb Cannon, and Casey Wedrall.
The honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Noland, Grayson Noland, and Trent Green.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
