Edwin Francis Klitch, 76, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Tuesday, December 3, 2024 surrounded by his wife and son.
Born Wednesday, May 5, 1948, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Richard Hugh Klitch and the late Josephine Palmer (Hamilton) Klitch.
Following high school he attended the University of Maryland before enlisting in the U.S. Army serving in the Medical Corp. and was discharged after serving for three years. He was employed with WHAG where he was the news director for the evening news. Throughout his illness he maintained his quick wit and loved to make people laugh. His greatest achievement was his son and he remained steadfast in his commitment to provide the best opportunities for him to succeed.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Mary E. Klitch, son, Brian E. Klitch and wife Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his step mother, Helen Klitch and brother, Richard Hugh Klitch, Jr.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County 13011 Maugansville Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
