Evelyn Minnie Pulfer, 94 of Wadena, Iowa passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa. Evelyn was born March 6, 1930 to Ernest and Minnie (Wuthrich) Welti in Rockville, Connecticut. She often talked fondly about her childhood in Connecticut. Evelyn graduated from high school in 1947.
On March 17, 1951, Evelyn was united in marriage with Paul Pulfer in Rockville, Connecticut. Five children were born to this union. She was a farmer's wife and enjoyed cooking, reading and growing flowers. She loved and prayed for her family daily. Evelyn was a member of The Apostolic Christian Church for over sixty-five years. She lived in Wadena for 25 years before moving to Maple Crest Manor in Fayette in August of 2020.
Surviving Evelyn are her children, Audrey (Ronald) Landherr of Marion, Iowa, Trudy (Albert) Hanson of Elgin, Iowa, David Pulfer of St. Benedict, Kansas, Kathy (Fred) Eberhardt of Quincy, Illinois and Kent (Jodi) Pulfer of Wayne, Nebraska; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; her brother, Clarence (Kathi) Welti of Manchester, Connecticut; and sister, Marion Andrews of Rockville, Connecticut.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pulfer (May 2009); parents, Ernest and Mina Welti; brother, Ernest Jr. (Alice) Welti; and brother-in-law, Clayton Andrews.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 4, 2024 at The Apostolic Christian Church in Elgin, Iowa with Apostolic Christian Ministers as the officiants. There will be a visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am before services at the church on Monday.
Burial will follow at Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Elgin, Iowa.
The family request that no flowers be sent.
