Francis "Frank" J. Davis III, age 87, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 26, 2025. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Frank spent the past four years in Elkton, MD, and was a longtime resident of Downingtown, PA.
A dedicated draftsman, Frank worked for Koenig Engineering for 30 years before retiring in 2018. Prior to that, he spent 30 years at Westinghouse until the company relocated. Frank was a proud graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1955.
Frank was deeply devoted to his faith and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elkton, MD. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including carpentry, bowling, golf, traveling, and staying fit. A devoted Eagles and Phillies fan, Frank also cherished playing cards with his family.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francis J. Jr. and Stefanie E. Wontroba Davis; his son, Mitchell Clark Davis, who passed at the age of 4 in 1965; his sister, Josie Palombaro, who passed in 2024; his nephew, James Woolaver Jr., who passed in 2021 and his aunt, Josephine Wontroba, who passed in 2019.
He is survived by his two daughters, Beth Goudy (Ben) and Joy Ann Davis (David Pavlik); grandchildren, Scott Mitchell Shamrock, Jessica E. Shamrock, R. Francis Shamrock (Gabby), and Benjamin C. Goudy Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Josie and T.J. Shamrock. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Davis (Roman), Dorothy Woolaver, and Stephanie Davis; his niece, Stephanie Jankovic; and many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the American Heart Association () or Boys Town (). Online condolences may be shared at www.paganofuneralhome.com.
