Genevieve Dufrene Authement, 91, born July 7, 1933 a native of Des Allemands, Louisiana and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 within two hours of her sister, Della Hembree, who died the same day in Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Marty D. Authement and wife, Jennifer B. Authement; grandson, Brian Authement Sr.; and great-grandchildren, Brian Jr. and Tristan Authement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell John Authement; son, Cary Authement; parents, Alice Dufrene and Nelven J. Dufrene; brothers, Will Dufrene and Alvin Dufrene; and sisters, Janice Pryor and Della Hembree.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, 635 Bayou Blue Rd., Houma, Louisiana from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery, Houma, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bayou Blue Assembly.
