Richard Frederick Obituary

Charlton: Richard R. Frederick, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 16th, in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after a long illness.
He leaves his two brothers, David Frederick of Brownstown, PA and Bruce Frederick and his wife Ann of Auburn; his two sisters, Elaine Donais and her husband Raymond of Sturbridge and Rosemary Raptis and her husband Gus of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Southbridge the son of Albert and Rita M. (Benoit) Frederick. He was a long time resident of Charlton, graduating from Charlton High School before joining the USAF. Richard was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Richard worked as a senior electronics technician for Bose in Framingham for over 20 years, retiring many years ago. He had a great love of music (from a family of musicians) and was an avid collector of records for which he loved to share with others. Richard was captivated by technology and enjoyed learning about new gadgets while puttering with old ones. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, and in his younger years fencing. He loved to go shopping and to dine out. Above all he loved visiting with his family.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor in Skilled Nursing at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center and Overlook Hospice for all of the care and compassion they gave to Richard during his time there.
A Funeral Mass for Richard will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, at 11:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will follow in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton.
A calling hour for Richard will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, in St. Joseph's Church from 10:00 to 11:00am, prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507.
