Henry Ewing Kennedy Jr., age 84, a long-time resident of Mt. Pleasant, TN passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday May 15, 2013.

Henry’s family remembers him as a kind and outspoken man. He loved to make up rhymes and sing. Mr. Kennedy loved to collect lots of stuff better known as his “treasures and memories”. He loved his dogs, Buster and Ace and his kitty cats. He was a retiree of Columbia Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife Rosie Lee Kennedy; Three daughters: Sheila (Robert) Geery of Dickson, Sandra House of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Sarah Mealer (Nelson) of Mt. Pleasant, TN; One son: Charles Kennedy of Giles County; Three grandsons: John Kennedy, Justin Kennedy and Joshua Geery; Eight granddaughters: Jessica Howell, Stephanie House, Cindy House, Angel Marlin, Kimberly Shrader, Jennifer Kennedy, Shannah Riley, and Cheyanne Kennedy; Brothers: David Kennedy, Bruce Kennedy; Sister: Mayelline Kennedy Burke, Georgia Odom, Mary Cotton, Shirley Kennedy, Annie Kennedy, Carolyn Ragsdale: 10 Great Grandchildren.
Henry is preceded by: his father Henry Kennedy, Sr., his mother Lena Mae Staggs, and his brother William Kennedy.

Funeral services for Mr. Kennedy will be conducted Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with burial following at Polk Memorial Gardens. Brother Ezell Rose will officiate the services. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at the funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

John Kennedy, Justin Kennedy, Keith Odom, Ray Odom, James Walker, Robert Geery, Floyd Cates and Matt Jones will serve as pallbearers.
