Celebration of life service for J.D. Jackson, 94, of Medford will be Monday, October 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Medford. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Medford. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
J.D. was born March 24, 1930 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Charlie and Pearl Jackson and passed away in his daughter’s home surrounded by his family on September, 29, 2024. He attended school in Ruidoso, New Mexico before entering the Air Force in 1948. He was a firefighter in the 3750th installations squadron until he was honorably discharged in 1952. He then met and married the love of his life, Marjorie Falkenberg on November 22, 1952 in Ark City, Kansas. They made their forever home in Medford in 1972 with their three children; Jimmy, Ricky and Marla. After the loss of their daughter-in-law, they happily brought their granddaughter, Shanda into their home to raise her as their own.
J.D. was very well known in the community as a happy and friendly man who never met a stranger. He loved and cherished family and made sure they always knew.
J.D. is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marjorie Jackson; his children, Jim Jackson (Geneva), Marla Cline (Corky), Shanda Schuermann (Troy); grandchildren, Malarie Cline, Haley Troutt (Coy), Jayce Cline (Emilie), Tanner Schuermann (Lawren), Tate Schuermann (Laney), Teague Schuermann, Amanda, Angela, Craig, Crystal, Candace (Joel); great-grandchildren, Baylor, Evie and Brooks Troutt, Rhyatt Cline, River Cline Maddox, Raidon, Lucas, Keisha, Keiondre, Keiden, Makiah, Lathan; great-great grandchildren, Lyndee Schuermann and Zendayah as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ricky Jackson; daughter-in-law, Jan Jackson; siblings, Scottie Jackson, Marie Jenkins and Helena Ryle.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Medford.
