Jack was a local of the Lake Arthur/Hagerman area where he and his four siblings were raised on the Price Ranch. Jack graduated from Lake Arthur High School where he competed in track and basketball. He enjoyed working with his hands and was fluent with tools and measurements. He worked as an assistant for his father Jack Price, repairing, building local ranch structures and homes.
On May 24, 1951 Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. From February 20. 1952 through January 8, 1953 he served in the Korean War. He held the titles Forward Observer, Scout Sergeant, and Assistant Liaison Sergeant. Jack was awarded the Korean Serv Ribbon w/** by the Secretary of State and the UN Service Medal by the President of the United States. Jack received his honorable discharge on May 15, 1953 with recommendations for re-enlistment.
Jack returned home to Lake Arthur, NM working with his father. He eventually left Lake Arthur and started school in Las Vegas, NM where he met his companion, Betty Bull. They married and lived in many various locations in northeastern NM. Some of the locations were Eagle Nest, Ute Park and finally the French Trak where they raised two children.
Jack left friends and family in northeastern NM around 2000 to join friends and family in Capitan, NM. It is here where he really enjoyed living. He was close to his brother George and Sharon (wife). Sharon would have Jack over for dinner. While Jack and George worked on several projects together. Jack would also assist his friends in any way he could. Tending to horses and livestock while they were out of town and sharpening chainsaws in trade for wood in the winter.
Preceded in Death by: Parents Bertie and Jack Price; brothers Gerald Price and George Price and sister Kathleen Bauer.
