Obituary of John N. Santorineos
John N. Santorineos, age 81, of Streator, IL, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 10, 1943 in Joliet, IL, the son of the late Nicholas and Helen (nee Anderson) Santorineos.
John grew up in Minooka and attended Minooka- Channahon Schools. He proudly served alongside his brother in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Millwright Local 2158, Minooka American Legion, and the Sandy Ford Sportsman Club in Streator. He loved the outdoors while gardening, fishing, hunting and participating in shooting sports. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and yelling at "all" the kids.
Survived by his wife, Carol (nee Costello) Santorineos; his children, Jody Ogle, Pete (Dawn) Santorineos, Nikki (Zach) Frey, and Mitchell Santorineos; his grandchildren, Helena, Alea, and Johanna Ogle and Carter Santorineos; sister, Anita Haire; and also many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Nick Santorineos.
Visitation for John N. Santorineos will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
