Johnny Jordan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Frankfort on Feb. 4, 2025.
John Thomas "Johnny" Jordan, III, 78, of Frankfort, Kentucky, went to Heaven on February 1, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
He loved and was so proud of his family. He is the son of the late John Thomas "JT" Jordan, Jr. and Mary Louise Jordan. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Kay "Patty" Jordan, and identical twin sons, "the boys," Michael John Jordan (Anne) and Donald Shawn Jordan (Amy). He adored his six grandchildren, Hallie Ray Jordan Weilenman (Zack), Ashley Taylor Jordan, John Thomas Jordan, Elisabeth Grace Jordan, John Wilson Jordan, and Molly Anne Jordan, and one great-grandson, Shields Christopher Weilenman. He was uncle to Michael Shawn Jordan (Nickie) and Melissa Jordan Sexton and was great-uncle to Liliana, Layne, Callie, Paislee, and Levi. His brother Donald Wayne Jordan preceded him in death.
He had a long career in the grocery business, beginning as a meat cutter at Kroger and eventually rising to management; however, he was an entrepreneur at heart and so he opened his first business, Jordan's Meat Market, in Jett in 1976. After selling the business, Johnny then went to work for Malone & Hyde, a large grocery distributor, which eventually gave him the opportunity to open his first grocery store, Jordan's Pic-Pac on Second Street, where he had an impact on many lives of those who worked and shopped at the store.
Johnny loved Southern Gospel music and was a member of the original Mel-O-Tones Quartet along with his father JT, and he also was a member of The Followers quartet. He loved watching Gaither videos and singing with friends.
Johnny knew Jesus personally and was confident in where he will spend eternity. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. He was generous and impacted the lives of so many.
Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Todd Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Michael Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Wilson Jordan, Joe Schafer, Landon Stivers, and Zack Weilenman. Honorary Pallbearers are David Campbell, Glenn Dempsey, Todd Hammons, Gene Harrell, Johnny Long, and Doug McDaniel.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Johnny's memory can be made to the Benevolence Fund at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church or The Salvation Army.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.

I was little when we lived across the street from you. But I've heard better stories about myself as a child from you Patty than my mom & dad ha ha. Johnny always spoke so nice to me and I remember liking to play with your boys. I'm so sorry to hear about Johnny, Patty we will come visit you soon. Our prayers are with you & your family.
