Ralph Montoya, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Mayer, Arizona. Born on September 18, 1950, in Lumberton, New Mexico, Ralph was the son of Jose Manuel Montoya and Amalia Salazar. He grew up in New Mexico and graduated from Dulce High School.
Ralph is survived by his lifetime partner, Lucy M. Martinez, and her children. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Priscilla M. Caro (Mario) of Ogden, Utah; Arthur B. Montoya of Ogden, Utah; Ted Salazar (Michelle) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Celia Vialpando of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Jose (Chispas) Florentino Montoya (Bernie) of Farmington, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Ralph, affectionately known as “Mr. Wilson,” will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family. Per his request, there will be no formal service. Instead, his life will be honored in a celebration of life to be held this spring.
Ralph’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating a life well-lived and cherished. Details of the event will be shared at a later date.
