Funeral service for Kerry Smith will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Burial will take place at Fairlawn Cemetery and officiated by life long friend, Rick Cuccio.
Kerry Smith, age 68, died April 18, 2025 at home in Tubac, Arizona, where he resided with his wife, Sharon (Denney) Smith, whom he married on July 24, 1993. He was born February 27, 1957 in Claremore, Oklahoma to the late Donald L. Smith and Nicki Casey Smith.
Kerry graduated from Moore High School in 1975 and went on to earn a BBA from OU, BS in Nursing from OCU and Master of Nurse Anesthesia from Newman University, Wichita, Kansas.
From 2002 to 2015 he practiced anesthesia in several states and in the Army Reserve. He was forced to retire in 2015 as the result of a TBI.
Kerry was an avid golfer, mountain biker, and skier. Much earlier in life, he raced motocross. He also enjoyed smoking and grilling a variety of food.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a sister, Kitty Dian Broussard; nephew, Lucas Broussard and his wife Amity and their three children, Remy, Rory and Ridley of Meeker, Colorado. Also surviving him are niece, Chanin (Denney) Aumiller and her husband David, and their two children, Dallas, his wife Lynsi and son Landry, daughter, Chiann, her son Jesse and daughter Jordie of South Hutchison, Kansas.
Honorary pallbearers are Aric DeYoung, Rick Cuccio, Mike Gray, Steve Williams, Marty Durkin and Ben Martin, DO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse, Tunnel to Towers, or your place of worship.
