Luanne Myers Neff Swanson, 76, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023, with her beloved husband at her side, after a long battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. She was born November 22, 1946, in Terre Haute to Charles Edward Myers, Sr. and Rosemary (Burgan) Myers.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. Swanson, whom she adored; her son James David Neff, of whom she was very proud and his companion, Sharon Shaw; son-in-law Brian Stewart, two grandsons who were her world, Kyle David Neff and Kasey James Stewart; her sister Darlene Collins (Ted) and a brother, Buddy Myers (Carol), as well as a large number of family related only by love, Tricia May and Kevin May, their children, Derrick and his son Grayson and Natalie Murlin (Tyler), all of Terre Haute. Also, Gregg and Jill Broyles and their children Shelby, Alexa, and Tyler of Evansville. She is also survived by a very special friend and pretend granddaughter, Ciara Love, who she was so thankful to have in her life.
Luanne was preceded in death by her precious, beautiful daughter Carrie Rachel Neff Stewart, and both parents.
She was a loyal Indiana Pacer fan. Luanne worked many years as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2016. She was a creative writer and a poet who wrote many poems and a few songs during her lifetime, as well as special lullabies for each of her two grandsons.
Luanne was blessed with many close friends and her two closest friendships, with Linda (Modesitt) Hall and Lynne (Walker) Foy (deceased) lasted from age ten. She had a kind heart and a great sense of humor. She was very loved and will be missed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at DeBaun Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Swan will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter or Southern Care hospice.
