Mary Grace (Brammer) Matherly, 95, of Flat Top, WV, went home to be with her Lord Monday, November 25, 2024. Mary was born September 9, 1929, to the late Karl Cleveland and Edna Grace (Lilly) Brammer. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Herbert Matherly; two brothers, Frank and Karl Brammer; two sisters, Rae Gaumer and Merle Fox; grandson, Larry Matherly, Jr.; great grandchild, Dakota Matthew and daughter-in-law Linda Matherly; step-sisters, Blanche Mererkhoffer, Rose Fink. Mary and Joe had six children: Gary and wife Betty of Camp Creek; Larry and wife Susan of Glen Morgan; Dennis of Daniels; Sherry and husband George Young of Beckley; Randy and wife Julia of Flat Top; and Cathi and husband Jerry Stump of Glen Morgan. She had eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mary and Joe were married 70 years before his passing. Many would know them as Madge and Bunt, nicknames given them while growing up. She was a homemaker for all those years. She loved her flower gardens, as did everyone who saw them. She was a talented artist, gifted seamstress, amazing cook, and the best mom in the world!

Mary was a founding member of Victory Baptist Church where services will be held in her honor Monday, December 2nd. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 to 1:00, services following officiated by Pastor Rollan Roberts. Pallbearers are Brian Matherly, Orion Munoz, Phillip Young, Samuel Matherly, Daniel Stump, and Joshua Shackleford. Mary will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Victory Baptist Academy in Mary’s name.
