Maureen passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at her home at the age of 73. She was born on April 3, 1951 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Maurice and Delores (Leske) Crook. She earned an Associates of Arts degree from Delta College and a Bachelor of Business Management degree from Saginaw Valley State University. She had a long work career in healthcare. It began at Bay Osteopathic Hospital in Bay City in the billing department. When local hospitals merged, she continued her career with Bay Medical as manager of the billing department. Later, she became a member of the Corporate Compliance/Risk Management team at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. Maureen was in their Mentors and Mission group and received an award for her work.
Maureen was a sweet, generous, loving person who enjoyed her life with her husband, Chet. They enjoyed the outdoors and just spending time together reading, playing cards, or visiting with friends and family. Their son Jeff, daughter-in-law, Stacey and granddaughters Grace and Lauren brought great love and comfort to her. She was an accomplished cook and baker, and loved to share her talents (and creations) with friends and family. Maureen was blessed to have a network of her “girls” who provided great joy and support. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City.
Maureen is survived by her dear husband, Chet; son, Jeff (Stacey) Sielinski; granddaughters, Grace and Lauren; siblings; Sherry Hill and David Crook, nephews and nieces, and several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by various aunts and uncles, brother-in-law, Doyle B. Hill, sister-in-law Joyce Crook, and several cousins.
Funeral Service for Maureen will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with a private interment taking place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Phillip Baerwolf. The family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
