Michael Scott Whitlow of Clover passed away on March 31, 2026 at the age of 63. He was born in Halifax County on June 19, 1962 to Nora Lee Throckmorton Whitlow and the late Alton Whitlow. He was married twenty-three years to Virginia M. Whitlow who survives.
He was a member of Clover Baptist Church and worked with Mayo Power Plant as an insulator. Michael loved spending time with his family, racing, country music, outdoors and was a tinkerer who enjoyed working with his hands. His untimely passing will leave a void to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he is survived by his daughters, April Whitlow Smith (David) of Clover, Talisa Lynn Williamson Quarles of Halifax; six grandchildren, Dustin Michael Crews (Lauren) of Turbeville, Logan Smith of Clover, Journee Smith of Clover, Austin Quarles of Halifax, Erick Quarles of Nathalie and Cadence Quarles of Halifax; two great grandchildren, Teresa Celest Quarles and Callan Crews; one sister, Shirley Whitlow (Kenny Irby) of Halifax; a niece, Nicole Irby, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Alton Whitlow; and nephew, Glen Landrum.
A funeral will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aubrey Heath officiating. Burial to follow in Clover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
