Nancy Ann Freeman Foley left this world in Ash Flat, Arkansas to meet her heavenly Father on May 17, 2025. She was born in a small rock house in Ash Flat on February 11, 1944 to Thomas Roland Freeman and Betty Jacquline Armstrong Freeman and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1961. She married Willie Dale Foley in 1964 in Smithville, Arkansas and worked as a valued secretary in the Highland School District for many years.
Nancy enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, bingo, flower gardening, and putting puzzles together. She was a beloved Sunday School teacher for many years. Her grandchildren endearingly called her Nanny, and she attended all ballgames, plays, concerts, tennis matches, cheerleading, spelling bees, and art exhibits. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Guion Baptist Church in Guion, Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Foley of Evening Shade, AR; three children: Roger and wife Cheryl Foley of Thayer, MO, Sherry and husband Allen Reding of Evening Shade, AR, Terri and husband Jody Sanders of Cherokee Village, AR.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jared and wife Inna Foley of Springfield, MO, Jacob Foley of Thayer, MO, Britney Reding and Michael Dumas of Evening Shade, AR, Monica Sanders and husband Caleb Denton of Bethel, VT, and Summer Sanders of Little Rock, AR; many other family members and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sessel and Ella Bristow Armstrong and Homer and Elgie Haney Freeman; her parents; and one son, Robbie Thomas Foley. Robbie was a wonderful son and brother for 14 years and left this world far too early due to cystic fibrosis. As a devoted mother, Nancy requested that in lieu of flowers, any donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Also per her request, Nancy was laid to rest in a private ceremony on May 20, 2025 at Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be truly missed.
