Nancy J. Lane, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, at the age of 82. A member of South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, MA. Nancy lived a life filled with love, dedication, and success.
Nancy's pride and joy was being a mother, a role she cherished above all else. In addition to her husband Melbourne, she leaves her three daughters: Melinda Adams and her husband Jeffrey, Jennifer LeClair and her husband Gregory and Allison Graham.
She will be dearly remembered as a caring and supportive matriarch. Her love for her family was boundless, and she was never happier than when surrounded by them. She was also a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Justin Adams, Rebecca Santos, Victoria Croswell, Alexander Leclair, Daniel Leclair, Andrew Leclair, Austin Graham, Alden Graham, Ashton Graham, Abigail Graham, and Amanda Graham, and she welcomed 5 great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Nancy had a successful career as a real estate broker. She was a trailblazer in the industry, opening SeaSide Homes, one of the first all-female brokerage firms, and helped pave the way for women in real estate. Her entrepreneurial spirit and leadership were not only inspirational to her daughters, but also granddaughters alike.
Above all, Nancy loved being out in the sun, especially on the water. As the captain of her own boat, during her boating days she was known as one of the only female boaters on the river. "There is never a bad day on the beach." The open water was her sanctuary, a place where she truly felt at peace and close to the Lord. When she wasn't boating, you could find her in the garden, tending to her beautiful plants. But no matter what she was doing, the sunshine was always where she wanted to be.
Her deep relationship with Jesus guided her throughout her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will be carried forward by all who knew her. Nancy's wisdom, patience, and unwavering faith were her greatest gifts to her family.
She will be deeply missed.
The interment will be private with a Celebration of Life held in the Spring.
