Nancy Jane Sams, 85, of Roscommon passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland.
Nancy was born on March 17, 1939 in Pontiac, Michigan to Clifford and Ethel (Scholz) Esler. She grew up in the Pontiac area, where she graduated from Pontiac High School. Nancy worked as a punch press operator for James River Paper Mill in Rochester for many years. On July 1, 1991 in Leonard, Michigan, Nancy was married to Ronnie Sams. The couple moved to the Roscommon County area from Rochester in 1998. She enjoyed crafting, garage sales and especially the couple's daily golf cart rides looking for deer. She had a special love for her two pets, Bubba and Roscoe..
Surviving Mrs. Sams are her loving husband of 45 years, Ronnie Sams of Roscommon; two sons, Daniel Harvey of Rochester Hills, and David (Becky) Harvey of Rochester Hills; two daughters, Diana (Cyrus) Herman of Berkley, and Dena (Paul) Gibbs of Houghton Lake; four grandchildren, Michele, Beth, David, and Amber; several great grandchildren; sister, Donita Berg of Roscommon; several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darryl Harvey; grandson, D J Harvey; and sister, Norma Way.
Graveside Services for Nancy Jane Sams will be conducted at Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township on Wednesday October 2, 2024 at 11 am. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
