Nancy Katherine (Hartke) Spelbring, age 79
August 17, 1945 – September 21, 2024
Nancy Katherine (Hartke) Spelbring, age 79, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 10:53 PM – Saturday, September 21, 2024, at HSHS Saint Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
A visitation for family and friends will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM – Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. In loving memory of Nancy, memorials may be made to the family. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Nancy was born on August 17, 1945, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew and Genevieve (Miller) Hartke. She graduated from Teutopolis High School.
Nancy was a seamstress and had worked at Glove Factory and E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton, Illinois.
Nancy was a member of St Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking, reading, doing puzzles, and mushroom hunting. Nancy was an avid Elvis Presley and NASCAR fan. Her favorite pastime was spending time and doting over her grandson Jarvis.
Nancy is survived by:
Brigette (Jason) Frierdich of Columbia, Illinois; Brad (Lori) Spelbring of Sanbornton, New Hampshire; Brandi Spelbring of Arkansas
Grandchildren – Jarvis Frierdich, Aidan Spelbring, Joey Pollard, CJ Spelbring, and Zehra Spelbring
Brother – Ron (Marylynn) Hartke of Teutopolis, Illinois
Sister – Marilyn "June" Hartke of Bishop Creek, Illinois
Special Niece – Tina Ochs of Olney, Illinois
Best Companion and Fur Baby – Daisy Mae
Several nieces and nephews also survive
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Andrew Spelbring, siblings John Hartke, Sue Ann Willenborg, Carol Jean Brant, and Judith Reeder.
