Josephine "Jo" G. Mason (nee Gambo), age 90, of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Naperville, IL, surrounded by her family. Jo was born June 17, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Samuel and Musette Gambo (nee Thomas). After moving to Cleveland as a child, Jo graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio.
Jo married her beloved Jack in August of 1955, and they shared over 68 years together. Jo was the proud and loving mother of Sam (Deb) Mason, Beth Mason and Leslie (Earl) Dorsey and loving grandma to Sean, Kristen and Ryan Dorsey.
Jo and Jack relocated to Illinois in 1983. There Jo became active in her church and community. Together with Jack, Jo volunteered with the local Community Emergency Response Team and helped with construction of the Lake in the Hills Safety Town. In her spare time, Jo loved gardening and crafting, especially painting folk art designs.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Jack (January 2024). She is survived by her children and grandchildren, her sister-in-law Isabel Hutson and many nieces and nephews.
