Patricia Browka Rossiter Obituary

BOLIVIA, NORTH CAROLINA - Patricia Ann Rossiter, 61, formerly of the Oneida-Verona and then Denver, CO areas, died early Wednesday morning, October 2, 2024, in the Hospice House of Brunswick County surrounded in prayer by her three beloved sons after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
Born in Rome, on December 26, 1962, she was the daughter of John and Jeannette Browka and was raised on the family farm in Verona. Tricia was a graduate of Rome Catholic High School and SUNY Potsdam. Most recently she owned and operated Kyah's Home Décor in Southport, NC but was previously a clinical research associate in oncology for several years. Her most important work, and the one she was most proud of, was as mother to her three boys. While residing in Oneida, Tricia was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, yet she shared her musical talent in local churches everywhere she lived. Surviving are her three sons, Lt. John (Abby) Rossiter, USN of Anacortes, WA, and Thomas Rossiter and James Rossiter, both of Parker, CO; her two sisters, Maria (Martin) Tyksinski of Mukwonago, WI and Melanie (Kevin) Angell of Higginsville; her two brothers, John (Amy) Browka of Bolivia, NC and Thomas (Robin) Browka of Verona; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two infant daughters, Laurel Rose and Jeannette Isabelle, and an infant son, all at birth. Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, October 9 at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main Street, Oneida, and will be followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, Oneida, which will be celebrated by the Rev. James Buttner. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call 3:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8 at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc. (cureasc.org), to facilitate research of this rare disease.
