Randy Hezekiah Jr. was born on November 13, 1937, in St. George, South Carolina, Dorchester County, to the late Randy Hezekiah, Sr. and Annie Hezekiah. He earned his heavenly wings on Friday, November 29, 2024. Randy was always a man of purpose; he also lived his life with purpose! During his early years, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Education was very essential to Randy. In 1959, he graduated from Stanton Vocational High School. His formal education was received from Edward Waters College graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. In 1972, he graduated from Florida A & M University receiving a master's degree in education and administration Supervision. He later continued and earned an External Doctor Degree from Luther Rice Seminary and Florida Progressive Baptist Seminary with excellent Christian Educational Services.
Rev. Dr. Randy Hezekiah, Jr., organization and career affiliations were employment with Duval County Public School System (educator for high schools, Sandalwood and William M. Raines, middle school Eugene Butler). The Salvation Army, Department of Corrections as a Counselor/Monitor. The Jacksonville Sheriff Office as a Bailiff. Randy was Licensed and Ordained by the Little Rock Baptist Church to the Gospel Ministry.
Rev. Dr. Randy Hezekiah, Jr., pastored the following churches: First Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida, New Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in St. Augustine, Florida. At his demise, he was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
He received recognitions from the City of St. Augustine, Florida, the Most Dedicated Instructor from the Florida Progressive Baptist Theological Seminary, Dean's Award for a decade of meritorious services from the American Baptist Seminary Extension, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Ten Years of Commendable Service Award, the Hezekiah Family Reunion Foundation Certificate of Attendance, Grateful Appreciation for Services rendered to E. M. B. C., St. Johns Regional Juvenile Detention Center for Dedication and Outstanding services, City of Jacksonville, Florida Office of the Sheriff Ministerial Visitation privileges.
Rev. Hezekiah is survived by his children, Philemon Hezekiah, Ransom Carl Hezekiah, Eunice Randalene Pressley (Ronald), and Cenatta Velmaline Hezekiah Smith; Siblings, Shirley Jemeson (Samuel), Benjamin Franklin Hezekiah, and Catherine Hezekiah, Ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
