Richard C. Freed, 77, formerly of Palmerton, passed away Saturday May 31, 2025, at Greenwood Center for Nursing and Rehab, Tamaqua. Born in Northampton on February 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Harry and Alice “Fuss” (Lever) Freed. Richard worked many years for the former NJ Zinc until its closure. Most recently, he worked for Pencor Construction until his retirement. Richard was a member of the Palmerton Hungarian Club and the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Amy L. Freed and husband Tomas Tula of Lansford; son; Michael Freed and wife Terri of Palmerton; step-son: Joshua Hoffman of Greenburg; grandchildren: Aiden., Kaylen, Lillian, Logan, Zachary; great-grandchild: Livian; brothers: Daniel Freed and wife Mae, Todd Freed and wife Louise; David Freed. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Freed.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
