Richard Neal Van Orman, 72, of Forest City passed away at 8:43 AM on Friday, April
11, 2025 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria. He was born on June 10,
1952 in Pekin to Forrest and Alverne (Craig) Van Orman.
Richard is survived by his father Forrest of Manito, son Justin Van Orman of Forest City,
grandson Jace Stapley of Forest City, Sister-in-law Sarah Van Orman of Peoria 3
nieces: Cydil (Nathan) Waggoner, Jenny (Seth) Shaw, Hannah Van Orman and 4 great
nieces: Ellie, Rene, Tua and Pippa and his ex-wife Carol. He was preceded in death by
his mother, brother David, and his daughter Jessica Diane.
Richard was a 1970 graduate of Forman High School, attended the University of Illinois
and Illinois State University. He was a member of the Forest City Community Church
and Farmed for over 40 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, trap shooting, hunting,
golfing, riding the snow mobiles and spending time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Forest City Community Church on Monday, April 21,
2025 at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service, lunch
immediately following the service also at church. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Mason County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund. Online condolences can be left
at www.hurleyfh.com. Maas Hurley Funeral Home in Manito is in charge of the
arrangements.
