Mr. Richard Oliver “Dick” Wetmore, Jr., 82, of the Lucknow community, passed away on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, while at home.
Mr. Wetmore was born in Norfolk, VA, a son of the late Richard Oliver, Sr. & Emma Virginia Carnes Wetmore. Dick enjoyed spending time on the golf course and shooting pool. He loved attending church and never missed a service unless his health didn’t allow him to. He also enjoyed watching tv, especially Jeopardy.
Surviving is his wife, Maria Wetmore; children: Rebecca (Ralph) Wetmore, Regina Wetmore, Richard (Michelle) Wetmore, III, Joseph Aaron Wetmore, Michelle Leigh Wetmore (Asim) Penny; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Wetmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Edwin Wetmore.
A family-led memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 on Saturday morning, February 1st, 2025, from Lucknow Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Brown and Reverend Keith Allison officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service at the church.
