Robert Lee Dunn, lovingly known as Bobby or Bob, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in his home state of Colorado, at the age of 66. Born on February 23, 1959, Bob lived his life with color, humor, and an unmistakable spirit that made an impression on everyone who knew him. Bob was a man who truly embodied the idea of living life on his own terms. He had a deep love for sunshine, long road trips, and warm places - places where he could sit back with a good drink, turn up the music, and just enjoy the ride. His favorite soundtrack was Jimmy Buffett's discography in its entirety. A proud son, brother, and father, Bob was always deeply connected to his family. He is survived by his siblings, and by his children - Liz Dunn, Josh Dunn, Addison Dunn, and Chelsey Gilley-Dunn - who each carry forward pieces of his bold personality, sense of humor, and zest for life. He was the kind of dad who might not have always followed a traditional path, but he loved his kids with a fierce, unwavering pride. To know Bob was to know laughter. He was quick with a joke or a story, often delivered with a mischievous grin and a twinkle in his eye. He had a natural ability to make people feel at ease, and his presence could light up a room. Whether you knew him for five minutes or five decades, chances are you walked away with a smile and a story to tell.
He approached life with passion and stubbornness in equal measure. He didn't do things halfway. He had his flaws, as all people do, but he was always authentically, unapologetically himself. Bob's life will be honored with a celebration in October, when his family will gather to share memories, laughter, and love as they spread his ashes - a final tribute that reflects the freedom and peace he always sought in life. He will be missed deeply and remembered with love, always.
