Ronald Holy Bull Obituary

Graveside service for Ronald "Magoo" Holy Bull, Ohitika Nah'unpi "the sacred ones that hear him", will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Buffalo Lake Sun Dance Grounds, Eden, SD starting at 2:00 P.M. There will be a meal and gathering at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center in Agency Village, SD on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Inurnment will at the Buffalo Lake Sun Dance Grounds in Eden, SD. Magoo Holy Bull, Ohitika Nah'unpi "the sacred ones that hear him", was born on January 2, 1973, in Eagle Butt, South Dakota to Gary and Catherine (Sand) Holy Bull. Ronald attended Cheyenne River High School. He received his AA Education degree and taught elementary school at Tiospa Tribal School, Enemy Swim Day School and Circle of Nations. He belonged to the Buffalo Lake Sundance. Ronald's Indian name came from his grandpa Andrew Red Fish. He enjoyed beading, golf, dancing with Auntie Lisa, traveling to Pow Wows and went to Gathering of Nations every year. His favorite football team was the Cowboys. Ronald loved to travel everywhere, take selfies, and Halloween. He would dress up and hand out candy every year. Ronald also loved being around his nieces and nephews. He couldn't tell Princess "No" and did everything for her.

Magoo was preceded in death by his father Gary Holy Bull; Hunka mom Rita Holy Bull; maternal grandparents, Dennis Sand and Catherin Catch the bear; paternal grandparents, Veronica Holy Bull and Emmett Shootsoff; nieces Janessa Medina and Serena Trancosa; brother Wambli Sam; sisters Cheyanne Crane and Shaunee Holy Bull.
