Ronnie J. Knowlton 74, of Sweetwater, TX. passed away Wednesday January 15, 2025 at Hendrick Hospice. His wishes were to be cremated. Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Memorial service on a later date.
Ronnie was born in Big Spring, TX. April 13, 1950. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in the Vietnam war and was stationed in Antarctica twice. He retired from Murphree's Tool Company where he worked for many years, with his good friends Pat and Guy Murphree. Ronnie loved doing woodwork and could make anything he touched turn into something beautiful.
Survivors include his daughters Misty Knowlton and friend, Becky Sim, of Abilene, TX., Angela Turney and husband, Randell, of Sweetwater, TX., brother Scottie Knowlton of San Antonio, TX., sister Bonnie Knowlton of San Angelo, TX., brother-in-law James Hogue and wife Amber of Sweetwater, TX., grandchildren, Taylor, Stephen, and Jaycee Turney of Sweetwater, TX., and Major Briggs of Abilene, TX., Matthew Rodriguez (Friend and Bonus Son) of Midland, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Edith Knowlton, and brothers, Clarence Knowlton and James Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Henrick Hospice of Abilene.
