On Sunday June 23, 2024, Thomas Lee Mitchell (Tom) peacefully passed away at his home in Aptos, CA. He was 88.
Tom was an avid train enthusiast; throughout his life he rode trains all over the world. He enjoyed playing trombone in the Watsonville Community Band for more than 50 years; he also played in Banjos by the Bay and several Dixieland bands.
Thomas was born on July 15, 1935, to his parents Patrick and Zetha Mitchell. He is survived by his beloved wife Thoma E. Mitchell, his children Larry Mitchell (Patsy), Sandy Mitchell (Bill), Janice Lewis, Patricia Walker (Les), Dan Walker (Sonja), Melinda Kasperson (Randy), his sister Sharon Parker, and his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Corralitos Community Center at 33 Browns Valley Road, Corralitos, CA 95076.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or The Watsonville Community Band.
