TUSCOLA - Sarah Ellen "Sally" Doud, 86 of Tuscola, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola, with a time of sharing memories by family and friends at 7 p.m.
Celebration of Life Open House will be held at the Tuscola Moose Lodge starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.
Sally was born on June 7, 1938, in Peabody, Mass., the daughter of John Sylvester and Sarah Murphy Sylvester.
Survivors include her three children: Beth (Brad Bockewitz) Doud of Tuscola, Gary Doud of Tuscola and Tom (Jennifer) Doud of Arcola, three grandchildren: Jeremy (Holly) Dallas of Mahomet, Sarah Vogel of Tuscola and Morgan Doud of Arcola, great-grandson: Sawyer Vogel of Tuscola, and sisters: Frances Theriault and Bertha Germano, both of Massachusetts.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson: Skylor Vogel, and sister: Annie Germano.
Sally moved from Massachusetts to Tuscola in 1958, where she raised her children. She became very active in her community by volunteering her time and joining many clubs and organizations where she was known for her kindness and generosity. Sally never failed to help someone in need. She was a former member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and Loyal Order of the Moose Chapter #1011, where she served as Star Recorder. Sally also worked as a bookkeeper at the Tuscola Health Care Center for many years.
Although she was small in stature, anyone who met Sally was instantly drawn to her big personality. She loved to sing and dance with anyone who would join her. Sally will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones.
