Braxton Spears Obituary

BRAXTON SPEARS JR., 76, of South Shore, KY., died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1948, to the late Braxton Moses and Lula (Payton) Spears. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Spears; 2 sisters, Betty Meadows and Lucy Smith; 4 brothers, Winford Ray, David Andrew, Ralph Edward, and Ernest Lee Spears.
Although Braxton earned his living as a truck driver, his heart truly belonged to the land. His real joy came from raising cattle and working the farm. He tended to his herd with care and dedication and took great pride in seeing his cattle healthy and his fields well-kept.
He is survived by his daughter, Rena Beasley; 3 sisters, Leota Conley, Delie Mercer, and Annabelle Barber; his grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Ronald Kelly and Eddie Spears officiating. The burial will follow at Spears Family Cemetery in Little White Oak, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
